Jib problems

On Monday morning I woke up with a feeling of dread, because 1. The weekend was over and I had to start school again and 2. the wind was howling, and it was raining.  Rats! We had been planning to go to the beach, and then in the afternoon we had planned to travel to Hoffman’s Cay. I did school in the morning while Mom called DJ and our friends on Andante to see what they thought we should do about going to Hoffman’s Cay. In the end they decided to go in the afternoon.  Around 3:00 we picked up the hook (anchor) and had a nice afternoon sail except for the last hour and a half.  Then the jib sheets got all tangled up and we couldn’t pull all of the jib in, so about an eighth of the jib was just flopping around in the wind, and it sounded like it was going to tear itself to bits. We finally figured out how to pull in the jib. Then when we finally got to the anchorage Mom and I nearly killed each other trying to anchor because of our short tempers. So it was an alright day.
