Some days I question my sanity. Most people I know live in a house with indoor plumbing and when something horrible goes wrong they call a plumber. Plumbers charge a lot of money for good reason. It's a horrible job and I suspect requires a lot of alcohol at the end of the day.
I've been wearing my plumbers hat for the past couple of days along with a long, sad face. Coleen actually had a clothespin on her nose before she jumped ship and went next door. Even the dog seemed upset, and I swear I heard him say, "Hey, don't yell at me for my mistakes, they're nothing like this!' Of course it could have just been my delirium. Still despite the horribleness of it all, I prevailed and now the old toilet and all the horrible waste hoses are removed. Everything is clean and smelling fresh. The new composting toilet arrived yesterday afternoon and I've almost got it installed. Of course as with every project I attempt, a trip to the hardware store is needed. So I'll be headed out on my bike later this morning after it warms up a bit. Good news is that DJ is coming for Thanksgiving weekend. He'll be here tomorrow. I'll be cooking a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. I can't wait to get started as I sure love to cook way more than I enjoy anything about plumbing!

I showed your post to a plumber friend of mine, he agreed with you completely, and laughed out loud!
