The Easter bunny out did himself this year! Coleen woke up early and quickly emerged from her bunk with an emptied clothes basket. She said she was going to use it to gather eggs since she didn't have an Easter basket. Well she looked out the companionway hatch and that Easter bunny left her a basket filled with eggs and goodies! She was beside herself and couldn't get the doors open fast enough. She was especially excited to see that the Easter Bunny even included a couple of treats for Mr. Kitty. After pouring through all those goodies she emptied the basket and set out for an Easter egg hunt.
We decided that Easter bunny must have checked the weather forecast - as instead of spreading the eggs along the dock - where the wind would have surely blown them away - he hid them all on the boat. Imagine that! He did have some clever hiding places though - but Coleen managed to find them all.
We put on our Sunday best and our friend Mike gave us a ride to church, dropping us off at the Forest Ridge United Methodist Church. It was a great service but it sure did make me homesick. There was a little boy sitting in the pew in front of us with his little clip on tie all askew. He reminded me so much of my son Phillip that I nearly had tears. I do miss that little boy of mine who was always such a fidget monster in church. By the end of the service his tie and shoes would always be off :-)
Mike picked us up after church and we headed over the the West Marine where I bought some support poles for the bimini, some of those little plastic covers for the shrouds, a chart from Panama City to Carabelle and even a new dress and t-shirt. Yes, I know what kind of woman does her clothes shopping at West Marine!
We then went to a great Chinese buffet for lunch and got stuffed. I even learned how to eat crawfish which were actually quite tasty. It was incredibly windy when we made it back to the boat - so a sail was out and a nap in the cockpit was in! I heard my from son who had cooked the Easter dinner at his dad's home - leg of lamb, ham, sweet taters, broccoli, mashed taters, brownies, c.c cookies and even hand dipped chocolate covered strawberries. I told him I now have high expectations for my upcoming Mother's Day dinner.

Hi Mary and Coleen! So glad the Easter Bunny found the boat yesterday! It sounds like you had a wonderful day! I talked with my family on speaker phone - first time they had speaker phone. It was great. I could hear the usual banter of a holiday. <sigh>
