After I finished work we hopped aboard the fast dinghy and headed across the river to Emerson Point Park. It proved to be a truly lovely place. Lots of well marked trails and boardwalks with lots of park benches too. The woods were a mixture of cypress, palms of all sorts, mangroves and a few cactus I even saw a lantana growing wild very similar to the ones I planted in my garden at home this spring. Lots of spanish moss and ferns too. Truly an enchanted place. We walked for over 2 hours and little Coleen was quite tired.
We got back a bit late and I reheated some pepperoni pasta for Coleen's dinner while DJ and I had a beer dinner with a couple of hot dog's thrown in for good measure.
The picture below is of a boat anchored a little too close to the beach and left high and dry by the tide. Notice all the bright green oysters on the bottom. Believe it or not this thing actually floated the next day and someone came after it. In the other picture you can see our boats in the distance.
