Coleen and I are departing late this afternoon for the long car ride home. We've taken this opportunity to sort through all our storage bins and weed out all the things we don't really need. There's quite a bit of work involved in getting the boat ready to sit idle for a couple of weeks - so of course I have a checklist :-) I feel comfortable leaving the boat here as I'm sure our liveaboard next door neighbor will keep an eye on her.
I'm letting my son take our car back to college - since I don't really need it. He and a buddy are planning to drive it from Tulsa to Providence and have it all planned out to attend a major league baseball game each night in a different city. I wonder where he gets his sense of adventure :-)
Yesterday a 90 foot dinner cruise/party ship pulled into the dock across from us. The owner/captain was super nice and gave Coleen and I a tour. He's moving the boat from Ft. Lauderdale to Galveston. I asked him about his crossing from Clearwater to Carabelle, and he said it was smooth as glass the whole way..... makes me wonder if I could actually go that way myself - especially since I now have an autopilot......
So... there will be a pause in blog entries until I return on June 1st. Coleen is going to stay with her Grandmother for a few weeks... so her blog will resume much later.
