Coleen is thriving here too. In addition to making new friends, she now has a gym class at the park on Tuesdays. Yesterday she started music lessons at the Methodist Church. They meet each Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:30 and she's learning the keyboard. They even let her bring home a small one so she'll be able to practice. She was so excited and proud to have an instrument and her little folder of music to practice. She just glowed all the way back to the boat. She also had a test day yesterday and did extremely well in all subjects - so I guess the home schooling is going well!
For the next couple of weeks she will be working on an extra project to learn and write a paper about sea turtles. We're going to top it off with a visist to the Sea Turtle hospital that just down the road a bit.
Last night we had a little game night with our friends on the trawler - playing Loaded Questions and Boater's trivia. We're headed to the beach this afternoon for a little lunch time picnic.
We're trying to figure out how to decorate for Christmas and how to make new Christmas traditions. Rather than buying the largest tree we can find - as in years past - we now need the smallest tree we can find :-) We're planning to hang the Christmas stockings over the cabin top winches - and hang a wreath on the front of the dinghy. Of course all of our many boxes of Christmas decorations are in our attic at home and I'm loathe to spend more on decorations - so we wont' be going out too big this year. And I finally had to break down and be one of those folks that shops early - as I had to have nearly everything mailed.
Life is busy but good in Boot Key Harbor.
