Coleen and Goldie went fishing on the dock. This is Coleen's first catch - a very ugly toad fish. Toad fish live on the bottom and have a very wide and strong mouth that they use to open clams. Coleen had to use one of Goldie's rod to catch this as the first bite she got on her own pole snapped the line and almost broke the pole too. I guess it's time to retire the princess fishing pole and get a real one :-)
Here's a picture of Coleen working on a science project at the little sandy beach at our marina. She was experimenting with marbles and sand to see how moon craters were formed.
Coleen and I took Brett out for dinner at the newly opened marina restaurant to celebrate the successful completion of the autopilot install! The food was amazingly good - but too pricey for eating there very often. We would have preferred good burgers and some fish baskets - a good place for lunch and/or breakfast rather than a fancy dinner menu. Very nice view though!
We went out for a test run on the new autopilot very early this morning. It works great. This is going to make my travel days so much easier. Brett also re-did all the wiring in the pedestal so it's neat and there's nothing dangling in the steering gears. He did a super job.
Here's a pic of the mess that was in the pedestal before -- imagine all this dangling around the steering chain. It's a wonder I didn't have serious issues.
