We've been in the midst of some nasty weather for the past few days so I decided to take advantage of it and work on our new website. The past two nights were very stormy, lots of high wind, rain, lighting and tornado watches. It was a bit unsettling at times. Even though we are securely tied up at a marina the boat stilled rocked like crazy. One large gust took out our bimini too. Thankfully that happened while we stepped out during a break in the rain to grab a quick lunch with our friends Brett and Kyla. If I had been on board I'm sure it would have scared me to death :-)
We had a nice break from the rain this afternoon and took a long walk on the beach. Then we met up with Klya and Brett and headed over to Flounders for lunch - some incredible spinach, flounder and shrimp nachos and a couple of bushwackers. Yummy! After lunch Coleen and I spent a few hours at Quiet Water Beach and was it ever nice to be on land and get away from the choppy bay. We are getting pounded on the beam (side of the boat) this evening by some very large waves in the bay. Hopefully it calms down soon as a good nights sleep would be great. I was very tempted last night to get off the boat and check in down at the Comfort Inn down the block :-) If I hadn't been afraid of walking around in all that lightening I would have done it.
We're planning on leaving tomorrow for Navarre Beach. It's only a 17 mile run so we'll probably leave after lunch. The wind is supposed to be from the north so we should be able to sail all the way.
