The boat was a little worse for the wear after being left alone for a couple of months. Every single thing on the boat needed to be cleaned which was a huge undertaking. I had also planned on taking this down time from traveling to do a few needed maintenance chores, a little painting and varnishing. So currently everything is torn apart but it should be back in place by the end of the week. Meanwhile we are staying aboard Perseverance which is rafted up next door. DJ and Perseverance are headed back to the States for a few weeks as so I need to get my projects completed ASAP.
However, today was a town day and our first day volunteering at the local library. Coleen and I are now officially in charge of the library on Saturday mornings. We even have our own key! It's a pretty cool place. It was super easy to learn the system.... First take padlock off the door, then open the wooden shutters/windows to let in the breeze (no air conditioning or screens), turn on the lights and you're ready for business. We have lots of books. It's $3 a year to join the library and all the record keeping is done in paper notebooks. Pretty laid back...
