I did a little horse trading today, some canvas work for a 3 seat kayak. It’s a bit big for us to carry aboard, long term, but will be tons of fun while we are in Georgetown. There’s room for Coleen and I, plus Prince and our picnic and snorkel gear. Later when other families arrive for the winter, I expect Coleen and some kids will enjoy it immensely.
Today was another hot, windless day, but we powered through and had our school lessons this morning. Then I dug out the sewing machine with great intentions of making good progress recovering our main salon cushions. After a couple hours of effort, I was too hot to think. I struggled into my swimsuit, loaded up the beach bag and dinghied over to the Chat n Chill for an iced cold Coke and a swim. That sewing will have to wait until it’s cooler.
Coleen and Prince joined me there later and we tried out the new kayak. It’s so stable you can almost use it as a paddle board. Well, Coleen can. I tried and the results were, shall we say, “Splash”! There’s a crazy stingray, supposedly tame, that likes to hang out at the Chat n Chill beach. It will swim right up to your toes. Tame or not, I don’t like it and generally end up running for the hills, while everyone laughs. I say better safe and sorry.
