Two Really Cool Things

Two really cool things happened this week so far and it's only Wednesday!

#1 I finally have a dinghy motor that works and that I can easily load/unload on the dinghy.  My brand new Tohisutua 3.5 hp motor was basically a $1000 piece of junk.  Worst money I've spent on the entire trip.  First of all it had a long shaft - instead of short shaft like you'd use on a dinghy.  The long shaft made it cumbersome to load/unload - and I also couldn't get very close to shore with it.  Then there was the whole matter of it rarely ever starting - and if it ever did start- it would not idle or run at a low speed  ever - period.  Anyway enough rambling about that bad investment.... the good news is that I know have a little bitty old 2 hp motor that I can easily pick up - starts every time on the FIRST try and will move my dinghy along even when things are a bit choppy.  No more bumming dinghy rides to shore for me!  I now have freedom!

#2 I have a library card!  Turns out Ft. Myers Beach Library will let you get  non-resident library card for the low price of $10!  As much as Coleen and I like to read - even if we're only here for 2 weeks - that's still a lot of books!  And even better - I did a little research and for $30 - we'll be able to obtain a library card in the Keys!

Yes - things are good on the Glass Slipper!
