Welcome to our new website. Hopefully it works better than the blog site. It's still a work in progress, but I will add more as time permits. If you get a chance check out the pictures tab. It's just so freaky - all the pictures I took on my iphone - which are most of them - actually show the location on google map - even the remote anchorages. You have to click on the pic to see this.
We had a quiet day. I woke up at 6 a.m. and did a few chores outside as the water was very calm. We shared a cab with some fellow boaters this afternoon and did a little grocery shopping. Between the 3 boats - we had the trunk of that cab filled.
The first mate of the Paddle Wheel boat invited us over for a tour this evening. He was getting ready to take out a bunch of folks on a murder mystery cruise. It was evident that he really likes his job as he proudly showed us every nook and cranny of that boat.
Our friends Klya and Brett were planning to arrive today. They left from Pensacola through the pass and out into the Gulf. I talked to them yesterday morning - as 3 miles out they still had cell phone service. Kyla said it was rough and she was eating crackers. Anyway, turns out the seas were 3 to 5 feet and every few minutes a few 9 footers rolled through. The boat was traveling so fast they couldn't control it even under bare poles. So they decided to head into Destin rather than continue to Panama City. I guess the trip through the pass at Destin was a nightmare. Then to top it off they ran aground before they were able to anchor. Klya was pretty upset this morning but they are in better spirits this afternoon. Hopefully they will make it here over the weekend.
My friend Frank is bailing me out by sending an Easter care package complete with eggs and an easter basket that should arrive tomorrow. I totally messed up and was not prepared for the Easter Bunny.
